A worn carving of the Hindu god Shiva at Chand Baori Stepwell at Abhaneri, Rajasthan, India.
Chand Baori is a stepwell situated in the village of Abhaneri near Jaipur in the Indian state of Rajasthan.
It was constructed in AD 800 and descends approximately 100 feet (30 meters) in to the ground making it one of the deepest stepwells in India. It was built by King Chanda of the Chauhan Dynasty and was dedicated to Harshat Mata, the Goddess of Joy.
Chand Baori has been used as a filming location for a number of films such as The Fall, Bhool Bhulaiyaa (Sakiya Song), The Dark Knight Rises and Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.
